This
car has some interesting history. It was purchased by the owner
for a mere $500 in 1991. "Project Infamous" is one of only
16,640 Ford Mustangs that received the bench seat option. In 1991
the first restoration put the interior back to its original
factory configuration with the only modifications being the
addition of a tachometer and a small gage cluster in the dash.
This clean factory cockpit gives the feel of a classic pony
car, but with a review of the exterior it is apparent that quite a
few modifications have been made. R-Model racing apron, Cowl
Induction hood, shaved door handles and a fiberglass rear bumper
give way to a contemporary "monochromatic" look. This,
coupled with a 2 inch lowered stance and limo window tint began the "Resto
- Modification" of Fords most popular
production vehicle of all time!
Over the past decade Southern California performance shops such as
JBA Headers, JMC Motorsports, B&B Components and JME
Enterprises have contributed to the project and have set the
stage for the completion of Project Infamous in the
last quarter of 2003.
With a little luck and some hard work, Project Infamous will be
ready for the complete show circuit celebrating the 40th
anniversary of the Ford Mustang. More to come as details become
available.
